I painted this scene in 2022 when I was attempting a 30 day plein air challenge called Plein Airpril to encourage myself to paint outside more. For this painting, I drove to Harpers Ferry and met up with my friend Collin Cessna for a Paint Out. I painted these bluebells as my second painting for the day and was trying to be fluid and not over-paint the scene. We were surrounded by bluebells on this trail and it was magical.
