I am incredibly proud to present “Dionysus,” an illuminated manuscript page showcasing the Greek god of wine, ecstasy, art, and nature, who often shapeshifted into a bull. He was also known as Bromios (“Thunderer”), Taurokeros (“Bull-horned”), or Tauroprosopos (“Bull-Faced”). I created this piece to practice illuminating and as part of the “Shapeshifter” prompt for the 2024 Drawtober art challenge. 
Each block illustration is roughly 2 inches tall. This was an incredibly difficult piece and I’m proud of myself for completing it within the prompt deadline.
